It honestly doesn't feel real that I'm writing this.
After what feels like years of knitting, designing, ripping back, editing, and keeping this project under wraps, Knit a Box of Christmas Socks is finally here comign July7th 2026.
One of the questions I've been asked the most over the last few weeks is:
"How is this book different from Knit a Box of Socks?"
So I thought I'd answer that here.

Why another sock book?
After Knit a Box of Socks was released, I knew I wanted to design another collection. But I also knew I didn't want to create "Book One... again."
I wanted this book to have its own personality.
I've always loved Christmas knitting. There's something special about sitting down with a cozy pair of socks on the needles, a cup of tea nearby, and a Christmas movie playing in the background. I wanted to capture that feeling in a collection.
But I also didn't want a book that only came off the shelf for one month of the year.
While every pattern is inspired by the holidays, many of the designs can easily be knit and worn all winter or year long. Some are bold and festive, while others are more subtle and timeless. You can really have fun mix and matching colors for different season as well.

It's not all colorwork!
This has probably been the biggest misconception about the book.
Because many of the photos I've shared so far feature the colorwork designs, a lot of people have assumed the entire book is filled with stranded knitting.
It isn't!
Inside you'll find a little bit of everything.
There are textured socks for those relaxing evenings when you just want to knit.
Classic cables that never go out of style.
Simple vanilla socks you'll reach for again and again.
Festive colorwork if you're looking for something a little more adventurous.
I really wanted there to be something for every kind of sock knitter.

What's inside the book?
Here's a quick look at what you'll find:
- 24 sock patterns
- 12 fingering weight designs
- 12 DK weight designs
- 12 toe-up patterns
- 12 cuff-down patterns
- Texture, cables, vanilla, colorwork, and stripe projects
Whether you're in the mood for a quick DK knit or a classic fingering weight sock, you'll have plenty to choose from.

How is it different from Knit a Box of Socks?
I actually think the two books complement each other really well.
Knit a Box of Socks is a collection that celebrates sock knitting all year long. You'll find a wide range of techniques, yarn weights, and styles designed for every season.
Knit a Box of Christmas Socks has that same variety, but with a cozy holiday twist. It's inspired by winter evenings, festive traditions, handmade gifts, and all those little moments that make the season special.
If you enjoyed the first book, I truly think you'll love this one too.
And if this is your very first sock book from me, I hope it becomes one you reach for every holiday season.
Thank you
Writing a book is something that's hard to put into words.
There are months (or really, years!) of knitting, editing, re-knitting and keeping exciting secrets before you're finally able to share it with the world.
Seeing your excitement over the last few weeks has honestly made all of that worth it.
Whether you've pre-ordered a copy, shared one of my posts, told a friend about the book, or simply cheered me on from afar, thank you.
Your support means more than you know.
I can't wait to see which pair you cast on first.
Happy knitting,
Julie ❤️
